Board Certified Massage Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Certified Reflexologist, Approved RLD Practitioner
I began my career in the healthcare industry in 2005 as a Physical Therapist Assistant working at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in the Outpatient Neurological Department serving patients with a wide variety of medical conditions and diagnoses. Over the past 15+ years,, I have worked in various therapy settings including school-based therapy, inpatient rehab and spinal cord rehab. Currently, I specialize in Oncology Rehab and Lymphedema Therapy. I received advanced training in John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release techniques including MFR I, II, Unwinding, Cervical-Thoracic, Fascial-Pelvis, Mobilization Workshop and Rebounding. Seeing the profound benefits of this work and wanting to further develop and practice “the art of listening touch”, I was motivated to pursue my education in Massage Therapy completing an 1100-hour course of study at Baker College and receiving my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Therapeutic Massage in 2010.
I love learning and am continually trying to hone my skills with new techniques so over the years, I have received advanced training in various specialized modalities including Manual Lymph Drainage, Muscle Energy Techniques, IASTM tools, Cupping and most recently Reflexology and Reflexology Lymph Drainage.
During a session, I "listen" to your body, reading your body's physical and emotional signals to gain a sense of where your energy may be imbalanced or depleted. My goals are to target your painful areas, de-stress your tight muscles, re-center you and bring harmony to your energy flows and inner self. My eclectic approach to massage treatments allows me to incorporate a variety of techniques and modalities into each massage in response to what I "hear" your body tell me.
